Die Arlecchina Bag ist eine lustige, verspielte Handtasche, die auf den Konzepten der Modularität und des Null-Abfalls basiert. Sie verdankt ihren Namen Arlecchino, einer beliebten italienischen Folklorefigur, die einen Anzug aus vielen bunten Flicken trägt. Die Tasche besteht ebenfalls aus Flicken, die dank Druckknöpfen zusammengesetzt, auseinandergenommen, ausgetauscht und gesammelt werden können, so dass man sie immer wieder neu gestalten kann und es nie langweilig wird. Jedes Modul kann im Falle einer Beschädigung ausgetauscht werden, wodurch Abfall vermieden wird, und kann aufgrund seiner Formen und Größen praktisch aus jedem übrig gebliebenen oder upgecycelten Stoff hergestellt werden.

Emma Maiorino is an Italian accessories designer strongly committed to sustainability. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design at IUAV University of Venice, the time off due to the pandemic gave her space to realize how the fashion industry wasn’t shiny at all, nor coherent with her own values. The sudden need to change path brought her to attend a Master in Product Sustainability Management at Milano Fashion Institute. Her main focus of interest, discussed in her master thesis, is the need of an holistic approach to design in order to achieve true circularity.
