Das Goytaca-Tannin ist eine phenolische Verbindung pflanzlichen Ursprungs, die durch Torfwasser in Kontakt mit bestimmten Hölzern oder Kokosnussschalen extrahiert wird. Durch die Auslaugungseigenschaften des Torfwassers werden diese extrahierten Verbindungen auf das Holz aufgebracht und bewirken eine Farbveränderung, antimykotische Eigenschaften und eine biopestizide Wirkung.
