ZOURI is a social-impact Portuguese brand that works with local institutions and NGOs to collect plastic waste from the Portuguese coast and transform it into eco-vegan sandals. The innovation presented for the green product award is a sandal 100% handmade in Portugal, with a great selection of sustainable materials such as marine plastic waste, local cork from leftovers of the wine industry, natural rubber, and Portuguese linen, in a special collaboration with: Herança do Passado Association, that maintains the Almalaguês handmade fabrics tradition alive with a group of 10 weavers.

ZOURI is a social-impact Portuguese brand that works with local institutions and NGOs to collect plastic waste from the Portuguese coast and transform it into eco-vegan sandals. Since the beginning of the project, 4 years ago, we have been able to collect 9 tons of marine plastic waste, visit 57 schools and universities with our awareness program and work with more than 15 institutions in beach clean-up actions.
The production is made 100% in Portugal, 100% handmade in Barcelos with only sustainable materials: natural rubber, local cork, organic cotton, linen, pinatex, raffia, and others.
