The future is now - Sustainable, future-proof products
A record of 1500 participants from 60 countries applied for the Awards, demonstrated the growing importance of sustainable products and materials in shaping a more sustainable future. The increasing proportion of sustainable products and materials plays a key role in the transformation to a circular economy.
Every year, the Green Product Award recognizes products and concepts that stand out in terms of design, innovation and sustainability. The winners are chosen from 250 nominated products and concepts in 12 categories. Nominees, jury, club members, partners and embassy representatives gathered for the award ceremony on 30 April at the Nordic Embassies as guest of the Swedish Embassy in Berlin. The event started at 14:00 with presentations from industry experts and pitches from the next generation of designers who have completed the Green Cells program co-funded by the IKEA Stiftung. This was followed by a curated matchmaking session and at 16:00 the award ceremony and announcement of the winners took place.
