To fight against the strong CO2 emissions of agriculturally used moorlands, soil respiration measurements shall be standardized and automated. With previous equipment developed by researchers, an extensive field monitoring is very expensive. The new measuring chamber combines the advantages of earlier techniques and is suitable for series production. The use of drones makes researchers or vehicles superfluous, which would cause additional strain to the soil. Besides, fewer chambers are required.
