ABACUS is a concept for rural public transportation focusing on reinterpreting the values and social function of a historic rural train route to the present day. The concept is based on utilizing short, regional routes, allowing ABACUS to reach every point on the track in a few minutes with a single vehicle. Instead of rigid schedules and stops, ABACUS runs on a flexible hop on hop off system in order to introduce a new ans more sustainable way of interacting with public transportation.
