Circular design encourages a shift from common linear design strategies employed in construction and deconstruction by extending the lifespan of existing components. Re[Design] demonstrates a design tool to generate network based structures by reusing linear timber elements from roof trusses. A proprietary matching technique is deployed to minimize material reprocessing and allow the use of lower class components. This workflow eliminates the limitations imposed by the reuse of grid based elements, increasing the viability for their reintegration into the built environment.
