The Golden Phoenix, the designer collaboration of Carolyn Raff and Nikolett Madai. It is a circular peace silk dress dyed naturally with turmeric juice by-product, which is embellished with biopolymer sequins made from algae. Like a phoenix rises from the ashes, the two designers designed a closed loop production by saving food by-products and turning them into natural colourants for textile dyes and using its leftover dye baths to create sequins. Once the dress reaches its final usage, it can return to nature as it´s biodegradable and the sequins can be reborn into new ones.
