Amber Waste is Bliss is a research-based project by Agne Kucerenkaite. Bioplastics and biocomposites are composed from the residue of the production of jewellery and small objects made from natural amber. Manufacturers usually work by hand with tools, generating amber dust. Amber is high-priced, but tonnes of amber dust disappear down the sewer because the industry sees it as a low-grade material. As a result of ongoing experimentation, such by-product is transformed into completely new materials to create a range of usable more cost-effective interior products.
