Aquilo
Sustainable solution for periods of extreme heat
Aquilo is a sustainable cooling system based on the principle of evaporative cooling, inspired by Egyptian wind towers and natural body cooling. It is aimed at vulnerable and low-income groups who are particularly affected by rising temperatures and cannot afford conventional climate adaptations. Aquilo uses a moistened textile and a fan to cool warm air, offering a cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative. Unlike conventional air conditioning systems, which already consume 10% of the world's electricity.

Robin Richter hat kürzlich sein Studium an der Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd abgeschlossen, wo er seine Leidenschaft für Design und innovative Lösungen vertieft hat. Während seiner Studienzeit absolvierte er ein Auslandssemester am Holon Institute of Technology, das ihm wertvolle internationale Erfahrungen und neue Perspektiven bot. Praktische Erfahrungen sammelte er am Fraunhofer Institut für Bauphysik sowie bei Tulp Design in München, wo er an vielfältigen Projekten mitwirkte. Aktuell arbeitet er im Studio von Mark Braun in Berlin.
