A new material from cigarette filters
4.5 trillion cigarette filters end up on the street every year and we ban plastic-straws? A cigarette filter takes 10-15 years to rot. In a pilot project, cigarette butts were collected from the street and treated until they became toxin-free and safe for human contact. The result was a wide range of products: desk utensils, vases, coasters and even paper; to name just a few.
