The house of bread

The house made with toast
Vote now

For me, a slice of bread is more than just food — it’s a canvas for creativity. The concept is a human-scale house made of wood and toast, where toast replaces bricks. This surrealist installation rethinks conventional design, transforming a familiar food item into a construction element and encouraging viewers to reconsider material usage. Sustainable and innovative, it uses biodegradable materials like wood and toast, promotes a circular economy, and opens our minds to using unconventional biodegradable materials.

Rose Daher, 24, from Lebanon and France, graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven. Driven by my travels, I dissect the world to reveal another universe. It starts with existing, often overlooked elements like toast or a hole in the wall, giving my desire to create. Based on my observations, I intuitively craft hand-made collages to refine collected materials, unveiling novel, unanticipated settings.By viewing the world directly and intuitively, I find endless inspiration to discover new windows of imagination. The outcome reconnect with viewers, inviting them to look closer and interact.
