Multiple applications from pomace.
The production of wine incurs large quantities of grape waste – stems, seeds, skins – which is called pomace. Small amounts are processed into spirits (grappa, marc, trester) and animal feed, but most of it is left over as unused biomass. My research and development was aimed at reintroducing this biomass into a new life cycle. According to the cradle-to-cradle principle I combine pomace with natural binding materials such as carnauba wax. This natural composite is used for creating the wine cooler tresta kühlgewæchs and the lamp tresta lichtgewæchs.
