Urban Fibers

Digital textiles made from local discarded clothes

At Urban Fibers we transform discarded garments into recycled yarns that we optimize for manufacturing techniques such as knitting, weaving and rope making. We rescue local jersey cotton materials preventing them from ending up downcycled, sent overseas, landfilled or burned. The new, digitally upcycled textiles are suited for interior and fashion items. The colours we use are only harvested directly from the waste, avoiding further pollution through overdyeing. We want to promote urban local production while sketching manufacturing models for a more sustainable textile landscape.
