Sneakers, built to last, and made to fade.

Winner in category Fashion

Fade 101 is a biocircular sneaker designed to fully return to nature. SOLK, the manufacturer, made the shoe with compostable materials like chrome-free leather and natural rubber. The sneakers are made in SOLK's factory, ensuring transparency. They solve the footwear waste problem by taking back worn pairs and composting them in their controlled facility. SOLK created its own composting standard for the product, as one didn't exist for footwear.

SOLK’s “FADE 101” sneakers stand out because the innovation is structural, not superficial. New bonding and tanning processes allow all materials to decompose together. By controlling the full loop, design, production, and composting, SOLK ensures transparency and accountability. A strong example of circular economic principles, combined with appealing design.
