Soft Solids is a lighting series made from renewable natural wax, combining sculptural design with low-heat LED technology. The pieces use upcycled vintage parts, recycled steel and remelted wax to reduce waste. By turning wax into a durable, heat-resistant material, the series offers a contemporary, low-impact approach to lighting.
”Soft Solids” proves that design and sustainability inspire each other. “Form follows fantasy”: inspired by organic shapes and the special uses of wax, these sculptural lamps are much more than mere light sources. They convey a special, warm and cozy atmosphere of yellow beeswax and honey in the air.

Ruta Palionytė is a Copenhagen-based lighting designer creating lighting for spaces and landscapes, as well as light art installations shown in museums and galleries internationally. Ieva Baranauskaitė is an architect and designer working between Lithuania and Denmark, with experience in studios across Europe and Japan. Together they founded Daydreaming Objects, a studio where they fuse their diverse backgrounds to create lighting objects shaped by material research and sustainable design principles.
