Reutilización del agua de lluvia en el entorno construido
Este proyecto se centra en la reutilización del agua de lluvia en el entorno construido para su uso en el retrete y la lavandería, el 51% del consumo de agua de la casa, reduciendo la dependencia de los sistemas de agua centralizados. El diseño pretende recoger y utilizar eficazmente el agua de lluvia, integrando la filtración del agua en la estructura de la casa y utilizando un mecanismo de distribución del agua por gravedad. Este diseño tiene una fácil interacción con el usuario, además de utilizar la naturaleza de la fuerza potencial y la gravedad para evitar el uso de bombas y mecanismos complejos que se ha demostrado que crean un impacto negativo en productos similares.

The BA (Hons) Product Design course at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol emphasizes the development of design skills and a deep understanding of how people interact and respond to products, encouraging designers to be proactive and positive contributors to society, with a focus on addressing the climate crisis. The course incorporates frameworks like the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to guide students in creating impactful and sustainable design solutions. Graduated in July 2024, Martin Bello achieved an overall mark of First Class Honors.

As designers, I believe we have the power and responsibility to create a positive impact in the society and environment around us. Although being raised in Spain I had the chance to study my full degree in the UK, as one of my goals is to be able to travel to gain skills and knowledge from different cultures and design approaches.
I graduated in July, I have tried to focus my career on environment and humanitarian design, this project reflecting this focus. This project was also presented to New Designers, where it was awarded with the Impact Award, being later covered by media and press.
