Braided Textiles explores braiding textiles as an alternative material for clothing. A production method on the radial braiding machine modernises braiding craftsmanship through a robotic and machine-assisted process. The aim of Braided Textiles is to use this process to generate a new genre of seamless textiles for use in fashion and to sustainably open up new aesthetic and functional perspectives in fashion design for wearers and beyond in garment production.
