The Kiezbett is the result of a completely localized sustainable value creation. The wood used for the bed is pine. It grows in the forests around Berlin. Most of the trees are felled by trainees. For further processing, horses transport it to nearby sawmills. In conveyor workshops, the Kiezbett is handcrafted and delivered by cargo wheels to its end customers in a reusable packaging. For every Kiezbett sold, students from Berlin school classes replant 4 - 10 young trees in Berlin's forests.
