The fashion industry produces 10% of all humanity’s carbon emissions and a huge amount of pollution. By contrast, garments could be grown from root in just 12 days using only a small amount of water, wheatgrass seed and reusable wax templates. As fashions change new clothes grow and the old clothes are composted. Wheatgrass shoots can also be harvested and eaten as a super food; rich in nutrients and a natural detox. Rootfull explores the promising possibility of root grown textiles. It takes us on a wonderous journey to grow and design our own unique apparel - sustainably.
