Yuwen Zhang, from Anji, China, is completing her Diploma at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences under Prof. Tino Melzer. Her thesis project BAMBULÉ (SS2024) focuses on transforming industrial bamboo waste into innovative sustainable materials, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern sustainability principles. Growing up in Anji's bamboo-rich environment shaped her approach to circular economy and sustainable design. Her research merges material science with handcrafting techniques to create viable alternatives for bamboo industry waste reduction.
