GIVING TWO WASTE MATERIALS A REASONABLE RECYCLING

Traditional processes and the generative technology of 3D printing in the ceramic context are giving two waste materials a reasonable recycling simultaneously: the lime from oyster shells and ceramic fractures, which in combination provide surprising colour and haptic qualities. Chalk out of oysters forms the main component of the developed glazes, which provide an optical contrast to the surface structures of the printed material synthesis. With the objects shown, the Epithel project raises the waste materials to an aesthetic level and gives them a second and sustainable chance to live.
