The aim of Getting Our Shit Together is to 3D-print houses out of cow dung. It is a speculative research project on how to tackle the overwhelming quantities of poo and resulting nitrogen overload, which come from the abundance of cattle we have in the Netherlands. Cow dung has been used to build houses for centuries due to its hydrophobicity. By 3D-printing the houses, the process becomes more efficient and new design opportunities arise. Thus, the problem becomes the solution by optimizing cow dung into a 3D-paste-printer filament, with the final goal of 3D-printing inhabitable houses.
