Matterial

A zero-waste flower packaging material

The environmental footprint of the floral industry is anything but rosy. Part of the problem: excessive packaging waste. As a zero-waste flower packaging material, Matterial is set up to change that. Beyond protecting flowers on their way from florist to vase, the water-soluble biopolymer finds its second use as flower food. Added to the water, Matterial nurtures the stems to keep the flowers fresh for longer. The 2-in-1 solution tackles waste from two sides: Made from food-waste-extracted starch, Matterial reduces existing waste, while its second use as flower food eliminates packaging waste.
