The Sodium Bicarbonate Cartridge is an essential medical device for haemodialysis treatment. Haemodialysis is a life-saving treatment for patients suffering with end-stage renal disease. The Cartridge is single-use/disposable. It is a device that is both heavy (~0.8KG) & delicate, making it an drain for the environment from a transport perspective. My team & I have developed & patented a brand new innovative shock-absorbing design enabling the device to be considerably more robust. The result is far fewer containers required to be shipped globally to get these devices to patients.
