(RE)cord Player

Open-source record player from leftover forklift

ReCord Player is an open-source design project made out of with leftover forklift parts sourced from Toyota Material Handling. The objective was to repurpose these scraps without any additional industrial processes. The electronics are powered by Arduino and support parts are 3D printed. This project aims to demonstrate how everyday objects can be created using existing resources, empowering users to play an active role in both the design and production processes. It functions as an invitation to the user to rethink their interacting with the design and manufacturing.

I am Jade Veillet, 23 years old, and I am currently doing a master's degree in Industrial Design at Lund University, in Sweden. I previously completed a Bachelor's program in Product Design in Paris. According to me, design is a social and empathic discipline. My primary objective as a designer is to create products that enhance people's daily lives all around te world.
