Canteens play an important role in the production of food waste. School canteens in Italy throw away more than 50% of the food they produce. This problem has been studied under its economical aspects, but it has never been analysed in its psychological implications. Children are particularly subject to what psychologists call eco-anxiety, and situations like this contribute to their discomfort. This kit allows children to interact with the food waste they produce, and learn how other (older) students are studying ways to solve this problem, giving them hope for the future as well as new inputs
